All the information you might need about One Family and their over 50s life insurance policies
One Family Life Insurance Review
Over 50s life insurance is widely advertised in the UK, with companies like Sunlife helping to popularise this type of cover. There are various different options for over 50s policies, which can make it harder to know what’s best for you.
One Family claims to cover any UK resident between the age of 50 and 80, for as little as £10 a month. This makes One Family plans a very cost-effective way to provide your loved ones with extra financial security in the event of your death.
Here is all the information you might need about One Family before deciding if they’re the right choice for your life cover.
Why choose One Family life insurance?
One Family offers several benefits alongside their over 50s plans. For example, they are the only over 50s provider to offer terminal illness benefit and funeral benefit at no extra cost.
Over 50s life insurance plans have some definite pros and cons that need to be thought about before making any decisions. The main advantage of these policies is that they are guaranteed acceptance (no medical information needed). They are also guaranteed to pay out, provided you continue paying your premiums up to age 90.
These policies can be good for those struggling to find traditional cover. However, you may end up paying in more in premiums over time than you get out. The cover amount options are also limited, with One Family only providing pay outs of up to £19,832 at most.
About One Family
One Family is primarily a financial services business, providing products such as investments, savings accounts and trust funds. As of June 2023, over 50s life insurance is the only insurance plan provided by One Family.
They have operated under various names over the years, with over 45 years of experience. The company in its current form has been operating since 2014, following a merger of Engage Mutual and Family Investments. The business then rebranded itself with the name One Family.
One Family bought out insurance company Beagle Street back in 2022. This means it is possible their range of insurance products could expand in the future.
