What does Polly do?

Polly.co.uk is a website that is aimed towards Mums and specifically offers life insurance services to Mothers. First and foremost, Polly is a marketing company and not a life insurance company. It does not provide life insurance products or advice itself.

When you complete and submit a form on Polly.co.uk your details will be passed to an FCA approved life insurance agent. It is their responsibility to provide information, guidance and advice (if advised) about your life insurance needs.

There is also a partner website to Polly called Tom.co.uk, which markets life insurance and critical illness cover to dads.

About Polly Life Insurance

If you’re a mum who is active on social media, you will almost certainly have seen an advert for Polly.co.uk Life Insurance. They have a very clever marketing strategy. Polly uses famous names and TV celebrities to advertise life insurance to mums and explain its importance.

What life insurance policies does Polly offer?

Most of their advertising for Polly.co.uk targets life insurance for mums which includes the main types of cover. The most common types of life insurance that Polly offers are:

  • Family life insurance (Level term life insurance) which is the most common type of life cover. These policies pay out a level lump sum to your beneficiaries (children) if you die. This is also a type of term life insurance. This means that you would need to select a specific period (years) for your policy.
  • Mortgage life insurance (Decreasing term life insurance) is one of the cheapest types of life cover. The lower pricing is due to the cover amount reducing over the term of the policy as your mortgage is repaid. This type of cover is also a term life insurance policy and it is specifically designed to protect a ‘repayment mortgage’.
  • Family income benefit (FIB) is a less common but sometimes more affordable type of life insurance. FIB will pay out a regular (annual) lump sum to your beneficiaries to replace your income if you die.

You can read reviews for Polly.co.uk on Trust Pilot and on Reviews.io currently and there are literally thousands of customer reviews.

Importantly, you should remember that customers are reviewing the service that is provided by the insurance adviser or broker. The reviews are not for the services provided by Polly itself. It does however reflect on the third party companies that your details may be passed to. These companies will then provide you with life cover, so it is a good idea to know what other customers think.
